The awards represent excellence in international exports from New Brunswick businesses. With 90 percent of VidCruiter’s products sold outside Canada, CEO Sean Fahey said he’s proud to be able to represent New Brunswick on a global scale. “To be nominated for these awards is incredible,” Fahey said. “We work hard to be successful not only in Canada but around the world. Being recognized in this way with so many other great New Brunswick companies is quite the accomplishment for us.” The awards are presented by Opportunities New Brunswick and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA). The six categories for the awards are Exporter of the Year (Sales More Than $5-million), Exporter of the Year (Sales Less Than $5-million), Emerging Exporter of the Year, Global Diversification, Innovative Exporter of the Year, and Foreign-Owned Exporter. The Impact Award for New Investment will also be presented at the award ceremony, to be held in Moncton on June 14. New Brunswick Economic Development Minister Francine Landry said in a news release New Brunswick companies have continued to prosper on an international level and these awards celebrate that. “We are excited at the opportunity to recognize our New Brunswick entrepreneurs, and to celebrate their innovation and success,” Landry said. Federal Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor – speaking on behalf of federal Innovation, Science and Economic Development Minister Navdeep Bains, who is also responsible for ACOA – said these awards help renew a spirit of entrepreneurship while putting New Brunswick’s best exporters in the spotlight. “One of Canada’s strengths is that we have an enviable number of trade and investment agreements, and this is why we are committed to solidifying our country’s advantage, strengthening our existing trade relationships, and pursuing new opportunities in large and growing markets,” she said.
